Material Matters
Weaving sustainability into outdoor products and experiences
The Challenge
How might we employ sustainably oriented textiles in physical, digital or “phygital” products that support people’s engagement with the outdoors – from balconies to backyards to ballparks to beaches to bayous and beyond?
Emphasis may be placed upon the textile itself—its sourcing, manufacture, transport, application, maintenance, and/or disposability—as well as how textiles may be more mindfully incorporated into products, services, and systems that support the enjoyment, understanding, and/or stewardship of the outdoors.

Buyers are given a mock budget to choose their favorite products. Teams compete on sales, profit margins, and forecasting.
